IMPORTANT for all using the printer driver from Easy-Draw to run
Manual Maker 2.20. (Or any other version)
======================
The file MAN_EZD.CNF is a configuration file for those using the
(dot-matrix) printer driver from Easy-Draw. If you have been losing
characters from the RIGHT page of the manual, this should help.
The PROBLEM:
The Easy-Draw driver can only write to 10 inches long-ways on
an 8.5" x 11" piece of paper. The default in Manual Maker is for
an area 10.5 inches long. (Sheet-Height) This is the same problem
those people with a Deskjet printer were having.
The SOLUTION:
The 'Sheet-Height' has been reduced to 10 inches. This means that
the outside margins on the manual pages are going to be a bit larger
and the inside margins are a bit smaller. There is nothing to be done
to reduce the outside margins, but if you would like larger inside margins,
reduce the 'Page-Width'.
** It is still necessary to have the 'FOLD-LINE' in the 'Printer-Alignment'
test fall in the center of the paper.
The Printing Area Length:
The length of the printing area is the sum of the 'Top-of-Sheet offset'
and the 'Sheet-Height'. The 'Top-of-Sheet offset' is basically for laser
printer owners to center the 'FOLD-LINE' on the page because they can't do
it manually like with a dot-matrix printer. Unfortunately, this also
subtracts from the Printing Area Length. So if a laser owner is using a
driver from Migraph (Easy-Draw) that only writes to 10 inches on the paper,
they must also take into account any setting of the 'Top-of-Sheet offset'
necessary to center the print-out.
I hope this is helpful to those who have had problems with Manual Maker
in this way.
